And social is one area where Google has not been dominant (Orkut, Wave, Buzz). Tying social to its core search dominance might be the way to pull it off — especially at the hot 3 way intersection of mobile, local, social. That’s what we’re seeing here.

Social integration, ratings and reviews, etc. All of these help form a comprehensive search experience, and Google is not the leader in all categories.
