This is very interesting for anyone who believes that local couponing, like ads in general will morph into a real time, time-sensitive game where use cases like the following should be supported:
- A spa who has had a cancellation should be able to shout out to local customers and prospects that they can get a good deal
- A restaurant should be able to inform everyone of daily specials
- A retailer can get rid of distressed inventory or make space for new arrivals at short notice

That is precisely the thinking that has led to us at TheStoreBook building our product where we make it easy for merchants to get these "instant deals" out... check it out: http://www.storebook.com
