New Google Maps Interface Launches Today

Google Maps has rolled out a new look and feel, which involves larger maps and “less clutter.”

From the Google LatLong blog:

“With the new look for Google Maps, you can do all of the same things, but without the extra clutter. Find businesses (creamery near palo alto), addresses (6605 Delmar Blvd, St Louis, MO), and more (root beer in sf) from one search box. You might also notice the map is a tad bigger, and that it’s easier to get full screen maps.”

These are minor enhancements, but they do clean up the page a bit. This comes a week after Google Maps integrated walking directions to boost the utility of its mapping product.

i hate the new interface. they removed the dest. to dest. mileage and time. i won’t use google maps again until they fix this.

Good to hear feedback Michael — positive or negative. I like the new interface but I see where you’re coming from. Hopefully someone at Google is listening.

yeah, def. i relied on being able to rearrange my destinations to a route that is the most efficient. why would they do away with that???
