Attack of the Top 10 Lists

It’s the end of the year, and you know what that means: top 10 time. Here are a few top 10 lists that relate to local search and online media:

Search Engine Watch breaks apart the top 10 searches on Google and Yahoo! and compares news search with general search.

Search Engine Journal also covers this, and points out how Google searches are much more Web 2.0-oriented than Yahoo! top searches. More from CNET.

AdAge looks at the top 10 Internet acquisitions of 2006.

The Seeking Alpha Blog gives top honors to social media and online video in its top 10 tech storylines of ’06 list.

ISEDB.com meanwhile lists 10 significant tech events that have defined the past year.

Lastly, Praized.com looks to the online media trends that will shape 2007. Interesting to note on this list is the emergence of clear online video monetization strategies, as well as local online media becoming more social (and social media becoming more local).

Let us know your picks for the top trends and events of ’06, and those that will drive us through ’07.
