YPC Gets New CTO
YellowPages.com has landed a new CTO, Brad Mohs, whose background includes stints at Scientific Games and AutoTrader.com.
At Scientific Games, Mohs worked on developing software for lottery organizations, including systems capable of more than 1 million transactions per minute. At AutoTrader, according to the press release:
…he was a finalist for 2002 Georgia CIO of the Year and his IT organization was recognized by CIO Magazine as one of the Top-100 "Most Integrated" and by InfoWorld Magazine as one of the Top-100 "Most Innovative."
He sounds impressive. This hire seems to signal that Charles Stubbs and his team are trying to build an IT operation that can help YPC compete effectively with technology-driven organizations. Yellow Pages companies are not generally viewed as being rooted in technology. I’m sure Stubbs would like to change this perception.
Our company, Yellow Pages United, Inc., is driven fully by technology. We have one of the most comprehensive search engines on the web today. Our developers are always researching ways to improve our search engine using the latest technologies, including Ruby on Rails, and Ajax development.
If you don’t believe us, stop by and take a loof for yourself.
Yellow Pages United
Sincerely,
Nathan Arnold
