Craigslist Continues to Gain

According to Hitwise (via Mediapost), Craigslist continues its impressive growth (sans marketing). Craigslist has become a real force in local; it's a collection of local communities and viable marketplaces and it now has a powerhouse local brand.

There are now three questions in my mind:

1. How much of the classifieds market will Craigslist ultimate take from traditional newspapers? (Peter Zollman's Classified Intelligence estimated tens of millions in jobs advertising in a single market)
2. Who will try and buy Craiglist? (There have been offers before; eBay now owns 25%)
3. Even if there is an offer, will Craigslist sell? (Or would eBay try and block a non-eBay sale?)
