Foursquare Window Decals: Of Course

During a visit to Foursquare’s New York headquarters today, TechCrunch co-editor Erick Schonfeld uncovered the company’s next move: window decals.

This is a logical and expected move from Foursquare as it continues to penetrate both mindshare for mobile local user behavior and SMB advertiser interest. The former is happening rather organically while the latter requires considerable effort, which Foursquare has begun to show.

The window decal is meanwhile becoming table stakes for the bigger competitors in this local courtship game, including Citysearch, Yelp and Google. They all have them.

See the video Schonfeld shot with a fleeting glimpse of Foursquare’s Tristan Walker holding up a decal. And start looking for the bright green (and likely other colors) stickers that say “Check in Here on Foursquare” or “Foursquare Special Here.”

It was only a matter of time.

I do like their logo. I guess now we will see foursquare stickers on places that people checked in to.
