AOL Boosts Podcasting
Just like Humpty Dumpty's great fall to pieces, media content and audiences are fragmenting — or perhaps what might be called "nichifying" (read: long tail). And just like "all the king's horses and all the king's men," one of the ambitions of the portals and search engines is to put Humpty Dumpty together again by aggregating audiences and content even as it is served in highly specific and targeted ways.
AOL is arguably the leader in broadband content right now. And the company has just added podcasting to bolster that position as an all-encompassing news/entertainment/content destination. Ultimately, podcasts will be available though AOL Search via a partnership with TVEyes' Podscope search engine.
