Wikipedia Founder Offers Help to Yell Target
According to this article in the Guardian newspaper, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has offered an unspecified amount of financial help to U.K.-based Yellowikis, which faces a costly legal fight with Yell.
Yell, the leading directory publisher in the U.K., is going after Yellowikis because it believes its branding is an attempt to pass itself off as affiliated with Yell, which it is not. Yell wants the Yellowikis brand and site contents. The company seems willing to endure bad PR to get its way on this one.
